How much do you keep from a sale on Trendyol?

The amount you keep on Trendyol is found by subtracting from the sale price excluding VAT the VAT-exclusive part of the commission, shipping, any service fee and the product cost. Trendyol's category rates include VAT and are applied to the VAT-inclusive sale price; no extra VAT is added to the invoice.

In plain text, the formula is: Net profit = Sale price ÷ (1 + VAT rate) − Sale price × commission rate ÷ 1.2 − shipping − service fee − product cost. Because you can deduct the VAT included in the commission, only the VAT-exclusive part enters the profit calculation.

For a seller thinking of setting up their own e-commerce site, this calculation is a point of comparison: the commission line disappears on your own site, replaced by the payment provider's fee and the site's monthly cost.

Example: how much is the Trendyol profit on a camping chair?

In the Trendyol table, the camping chair is in the Sports › Outdoor Equipment group with a 15.5% commission. The calculation proceeds step by step as follows:

ExampleSale price ₺1,200 (VAT included, 20%), i.e. ₺1,000 excluding VAT. Commission 1,200 × 15.5% = ₺186; its VAT-exclusive part is 186 ÷ 1.2 = ₺155. Shipping ₺70 (excluding VAT), product cost ₺550 (excluding VAT). Net profit: 1,000 − 155 − 70 − 550 = ₺225. Payout: 1,200 − 186 − 84 (shipping, VAT included) − 10 (1% withholding tax, on the VAT-exclusive sale price) = ₺920.

The payout is higher than the profit, because you pay the product cost out of your own pocket rather than from the payout. To see the lowest price that covers the product cost, you can also look at the break-even point calculation tool.

How does the Trendyol commission rate vary by category?

The rate varies by product category, seller level and brand. The calculator uses the 386 rows in the category commission table of the Trendyol seller agreement; rates range from 0% to 30%. Even products in the same home category carry different rates:

Product groupBase rate (VAT included)
Camping chair, camping table%15,5
Thermos%16
Cooking and preparation%18
Bathroom, wall and kitchen shelf%20
Tableware%21
Home textiles (16.5% for Level 5 sellers)%21

The rates are taken from the official list, version V13-5 dated 14 October 2026. If you see a different rate in your panel, enter it manually in the rate box. You can also find marketplace rates in general in the article current marketplace category commission rates.

Why does the payout differ from the net profit?

The payout is the money Trendyol will deposit into your account; the net profit is what you earn after the product cost is also deducted. In the payout, commission and shipping are deducted with VAT included, and the product cost is not deducted.

A 1% e-commerce withholding tax is also deducted from marketplace payments. This deduction is not an expense; it is offset against annual income or corporate tax. That is why the calculator deducts withholding tax from the payout, not from the profit. When the payment reaches your account depends on the category's payment term; we explain the early payment option in the Trendyol early payment system article.

How do you compare Trendyol with your own e-commerce site?

For the comparison, look at the unit profit of the same product on the two channels: on Trendyol the commission is paid on every order, while on your own site there is a fixed monthly cost and a payment fee. As the number of orders grows, the fixed cost's share per order gets smaller.

Most sellers do not choose one or the other; they run both together: the marketplace brings new customers, while your own site makes sales on repeat orders without paying commission. You can find the unit profit on your own site with profit margin calculation and place it next to the result on this page. The article e-commerce site or marketplace can also help before you decide.

Frequently asked questions

Is Trendyol commission taken from the VAT-inclusive selling price?

Yes. The rate in the table includes VAT and is applied to the VAT-inclusive selling price; no extra VAT is added to the commission invoice.

Does my commission drop when my seller level goes up?

In some categories, lower rates are defined for Level 5, 4 and 3 sellers. When you select the category, these rates appear in the "Rate type" list.

How does the calculation change if the buyer pays for shipping?

When you select "Buyer pays" in the shipping field, the shipping cost is set to zero and the net profit is recalculated accordingly.

Should I deduct withholding tax from my profit calculation?

No. The 1% e-commerce withholding tax is a prepayment that is offset against your tax; it reduces your payout but not your profit. The calculator shows it this way.

If I sell the same product on my own site, do I pay commission?

There is no marketplace commission on your own e-commerce site; instead there is the payment provider's fee and the site's own cost. You can compare by adding these two items to your profit margin calculation.
