What Is HTTP?

HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) is a protocol used to exchange information between a web browser and a web server. Most of the web pages we use while browsing the web reach us through this protocol. HTTP is based on a request and response mechanism; when a browser requests a web page, it sends an HTTP request, and the server sends the relevant web page back in an HTTP response.
