What Is Proxy Server?

A server that acts as an intermediary for clients accessing a network service or resource. Stepping in before users connect to the servers they want to reach directly, this server receives user requests, evaluates them and, when necessary, forwards them to the target server. Proxy servers have many uses, including security, performance improvements and providing anonymity.
