What Is Shipping and Logistics?

The process of transporting and distributing products, goods or information from one place to another. Shipping refers to the act of transport, while logistics covers the planning, implementation and control of this process. Within the supply chain, logistics includes not only the movement of goods but also activities such as warehousing, inventory management and order processing.
