What Is Model Code?

A model code is a unique alphanumeric code used by manufacturers to identify a particular version or variant of a product. This code is used to tell apart different versions of products that have similar names. For example, if you want to sell different colors of a shirt on your e-commerce site both as separate products and as color options, the model code of these products must be the same.
