Automatic Pricing

Automatic Pricing calculates product prices on its own according to the rules you set. Marketplace commission, shipping, additional expenses and profit margin are added in sequence on top of the purchase price; with category-based rules and rounding settings, the selling price of all your products is worked out by taking real costs into account.

Automatic Pricing

When setting a product price in e-commerce, the purchase price and profit rate alone are not enough. Marketplace commissions, shipping costs, expenses that vary by category and the target profit margin also directly affect the product's real selling price.

Especially in stores with many products, doing these calculations manually can lead to both serious time loss and incorrect pricing.

The Faprika E-Commerce Automatic Pricing Add-on lets you calculate product prices automatically according to the rules you set. You can create category-based pricing rules, take marketplace commissions and shipping costs into account, and set up different calculation scenarios for different price types.

How Does Automatic Pricing Work?

The add-on's core working logic is based on applying the cost and profit rules you set on top of a base price you choose.

For example, taking the product's Purchase Price as the base;

  • Marketplace commission,
  • Shipping cost,
  • Additional expenses,
  • Profit margin

can be included in the calculation.

This way, the product's selling price can be calculated not just by adding a standard percentage on top of the purchase cost, but by taking into account the real expenses that may arise during the sale.

General Pricing Settings

The basic operation of the automatic pricing system can be configured in the General Settings section.

You can enable the use of the rules created here in automatic pricing. You can also set how calculated prices are rounded and how many decimal places are used.

For example, a price calculated by the system as 141,636 TL can be set to 141,64 TL using the round-to-nearest-kuruş option.

In the same section, you can also choose which price fields are shown in the product list. For example, List Price, Sale Price and Purchase Price can be displayed together in the product list.

Define Your Expenses

One of the key sections of automatic pricing is the Expenses screen.

In this area, you can create the expenses you want to include in the price calculation.

For example:

  • Trendyol Commission
  • Hepsiburada Commission
  • PTT AVM Commission
  • Profit Margin

and other expenses can be defined.

For each expense, you can set the amount, expense type, calculation type and order.

With this structure, you can include the commissions of different marketplaces or your own business costs in the pricing process.

Add to Price and Commission Calculation Types

Different calculation types can be used when creating an expense.

The Add to Price option can be used to add shipping, tax or similar expenses on top of the current price.

The Commission calculation type can be used for the commission structures of Trendyol, Hepsiburada and similar marketplaces.

Keeping these two calculation types separate helps create a more accurate price formula, especially for marketplace pricing.

Set the Calculation Order

An Order value can be defined for each expense.

During calculation, the system processes expenses with lower order values first and those with higher order values afterwards.

For example:

  • PTT AVM Commission: 4
  • Shipping: 100
  • Profit Margin: 999

A structure like this can be created.

This way, you keep control over the steps a price goes through during calculation.

Category-Based Custom Expenses

Not every category has the same cost or profit rate.

For this reason, the Category-Based Amount Can Be Entered option can be used in expense definitions.

For example, even if the general profit margin is different, a 30% profit margin can be applied specifically to a certain category.

Similarly, if a marketplace commission rate varies by category, a category-specific commission value can be defined.

This feature is especially useful for stores that work with different profit rates across different product groups.

Category-Based Automatic Pricing

On the Category Rules screen, you can create a separate pricing model for each product category.

For example:

Cat → Cat Treats → Kitten Treats

You can create a special pricing rule for this category.

Within this category, separate calculations can be made for different price fields.

In the system, for example,

  • List Price
  • Sale Price
  • Purchase Price
  • Amazon Price
  • Trendyol Price
  • Other custom price types

can be managed separately.

Set the Base Price Field

For each target price, you can choose which price the calculation starts from.

For example:

Target Price: Trendyol Price
Base Price: Purchase Price

A structure like this can be set up.

In this case, the product's purchase price is used as the basis for calculating the new price for Trendyol.

If you prefer, you can use a different price type as the base price.

Select Expenses by Price Type

In category rules, the expenses to be used can also be selected separately for each price type.

For example, for a specific price type;

PTT AVM Commission 16% + Profit Margin 30%

can be defined.

For another price type, the Trendyol commission or a different expense can be selected.

This way, you can create different price calculations for the same product depending on the sales channel.

For example, the sale price used on your own e-commerce site may not include a marketplace commission, while the Trendyol price can include the Trendyol commission and shipping cost.

You Can Use an Increase Rate

With the Increase Rate (%) field in category rules, a given percentage increase can be applied directly to the base price.

For example, a 10% increase can be applied to the base price to calculate the new price.

For more comprehensive calculations, expense, shipping and profit margin rules can be used in addition to the increase rate.

Include Shipping in the Calculation

The Include Shipping option can be set separately for each price type.

This feature can be used when shipping cost is covered within the price on some sales channels and charged separately on others.

For example, while shipping is charged separately to the customer on your own website, you may want to include the shipping cost in your product price on a marketplace.

In this case, shipping can be included only in the calculation of the relevant price type.

Volumetric-Weight-Based Shipping Calculation

In the add-on's Shipping Desi section, different shipping fees can be set according to the products' volumetric weight (desi).

Each shipping rule includes:

  • Minimum desi,
  • Maximum desi,
  • Shipping fee,
  • Calculation order

can be defined.

For example, a lower shipping cost can be used for small-volume products and a higher one for products with high desi.

The shipping amount for the range the product's desi falls into can be used automatically in the price calculation.

Separate Shipping Rules by Price Type

Shipping desi tables can be prepared not only in general but also specifically for different price types.

For example, the shipping cost used for the Trendyol price may differ from the shipping cost used on your own website.

If no special desi table has been created for a specific price type, the system can use the generally defined desi table.

This feature makes pricing more flexible for businesses with different shipping costs across sales channels.

Rules by Price Ranges

The Price Ranges feature can also be used in category-based pricing.

With this feature, you can create different pricing rates based on the product's current price.

For example:

  • a different one for products of 0–250 TL,
  • a different one for products of 250–500 TL,
  • and a different one for products above 500 TL

profit or expense rules can be set.

This structure is particularly useful for stores that don't want to use the same profit rate for low-priced and high-priced products.

Apply Rules to Subcategories

You can use the pricing rule you prepared for a category only in the selected category, or pass it on to subcategories as well with the Save and Apply to Subcategories option.

This way, instead of entering a separate pricing rule for hundreds of subcategories, you can build a bulk structure from the parent category.

Check Prices from the Product List

In the add-on's Product List section, you can view product prices directly.

On this screen, the product's:

  • Name,
  • Stock code,
  • Barcode,
  • List price,
  • Sale price,
  • Purchase price

and similar information can be viewed.

You can search by product name, stock code or barcode. You can also use the category filter to quickly list specific product groups.

Calculate and Detail Features

With the Calculate button next to each product, you can check the result the automatic pricing rules you defined will produce for that product.

The Detail section can be used to examine which rules and expenses the price results from.

This makes it easier to check the outcome of your rules before a bulk pricing operation.

It creates a more organized, faster and more controlled pricing process, especially for businesses that operate across multiple sales channels and apply different pricing policies by category.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Faprika Automatic Pricing Add-on do?

The Faprika Automatic Pricing Add-on calculates selling prices according to set rules, taking into account values such as each product's purchase price, shipping cost, marketplace commission, additional expenses and target profit margin. This way, instead of calculating the price of many products manually, you can build a central pricing structure.

Which price can be used as the base in automatic pricing?

In the category rules, you can specify which price field the target price will be calculated from. The purchase price, the selling price or other price types used in the system can be chosen as the base price. For example, you can automatically generate your Trendyol price using the product's purchase price as the base.

Can marketplace commissions be included in the automatic price calculation?

Yes. Commission expenses can be defined for marketplaces such as Trendyol, Hepsiburada, PTT AVM and similar. Commission rates can be added to the relevant pricing rule and taken into account when the product's selling price is calculated. This prevents the target profit rate from dropping because of marketplace deductions.

Can different profit margins be set per category?

Yes. Different profit margins and expense rates can be defined for different product categories. For example, you can use a 20% profit margin in one category and 30% or 40% in another. This way, instead of applying the same pricing rate to all products, you can create more flexible rules suited to your category structure.

Can the shipping cost be added to the product price automatically?

Yes. In the Shipping Desi section, minimum and maximum desi ranges can be created and a different shipping fee defined for each range. The shipping cost corresponding to the product's desi can be included in the automatic price calculation. In addition, in the category rules you can separately specify whether shipping is included in the relevant price type.

Can different prices be created for different sales channels?

Yes. Independent pricing rules can be created for List Price, Sale Price, Trendyol Price, Amazon Price and other defined price types. For example, you can use a price without commission expenses on your own e-commerce site, while including commission and shipping costs in your marketplace price.

Can the calculation order of expenses be set?

Yes. A sequence value can be set for each expense. The system calculates operations with a lower sequence number first and those with a higher number afterwards. This way you can control the order in which commission, shipping, other expenses and profit margin are included in the price calculation.

What is the difference between the Add to Price and Commission calculation types?

The "Add to Price" option can be used to add shipping, operating costs or similar expenses on top of the base price. The "Commission" calculation type is used in calculations that take into account the commissions marketplaces charge on the selling price. This way, different cost types can be included in pricing according to their own calculation logic.

Can the pricing rules created be applied to subcategories?

Yes. A pricing rule prepared for a category can be saved only for that category, or it can also be transferred to the other categories under it by using the "Save and Apply to Subcategories" option. This feature makes pricing management easier for stores with many subcategories.

Can I check a product's new price before applying it?

Yes. With the "Calculate" option on the Product List screen, you can check how the rules you created will be reflected in the product price. Through the "Details" option, you can review the values and expenses used in the price calculation. This lets you check the calculated prices before using the rules.

Can I search for products by stock code or barcode?

Yes. In the Product List section, you can search by product name, stock code or barcode information. You can also use the category filter to list only specific product groups. This lets you reach the products you want to check faster, especially in large product catalogs.

Can the calculated prices be rounded automatically?

Yes. In the General Settings section, the price rounding method and the number of decimal places to use can be set. For example, a price that comes out as 141.636 TL in the calculation can be rounded to the nearest kuruş and used as 141.64 TL.

Who is the Faprika Automatic Pricing Add-on suitable for?

The Automatic Pricing Add-on is suitable for e-commerce businesses with large product catalogs that sell on multiple marketplaces, use different commission and profit rates by category, or want to include shipping costs in product prices. It provides more controlled price management, especially for stores that want to reduce manual price calculation work.
